How companies are combined

Registrations are grouped by company name without legal endings such as Inc, Corp or LLC, so “Lockheed Martin Corp” and “Lockheed Martin Corporation” count as one company. Subsidiaries that trade under a different name (for example Sikorsky, owned by Lockheed Martin) stay separate. Yearly totals are exact sums; the agency, industry and state rankings combine each registration's top 10.

Frequently asked questions

Which company gets the most federal contract money?
Combining its registrations, Lockheed Martin received $165B in federal contract obligations from FY2024 to FY2026, across 19 registrations in our data.
What is the difference between a company and a registration?
A registration is one entry in SAM.gov with its own Unique Entity ID (UEI). Large companies have many, one per business unit, site or subsidiary. This page adds up the registrations that share a company name.
